Two underground and aspiring designers from Europe, that should be known around the world.
The 43-year-old designer René Storck is based in Frankfurt, with a design studio in Paris. Storck taught himself the ways of designing, accompanied by a tailoring apprenticeship at Alice-Eleonoren-Schule in Darmstadt, Germany. “The dialogue between minimalism and opulence can enrich the minimalist designs, and this produces an exciting language” says Storck about his label.
Graduated from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague and the Central Saint Martins Designer Erik Frenken launched his Label Avelon in 2008. The 36-year-old is working in Amsterdam and worked in the design departement at Alberta Ferretti and has been head of design for women’s wear at Viktor & Rolf. Frenken about his work: “I like to place things out of context, like to take a very luxurious fabric and stonewash it; seeing things differently than the way your eye is trained to see it.”
