Recently I saw some pictures of an editorial for the June-Issue of Japan’s Vogue and I was impressed. I just don’t know if in a good or in a disturbed way.
Model Candice Swanepoel, dressed as a mixture of a Hooker, White Trash Queen and 70ies-80ies-Glamzilla and all that in an illustred magazine like Vogue? Who would have thought that. Even though I can not read any of the japanese bylines, I am deadly sure that all of the displayed clothes and accessories are made by various high fashion designer around the globe, but nevertheless it just looks like a train wreck.
I mean, I do understand, that a photographer like Terry Richardson is more likely to do something unusual and never seen. But this does not necessarily mean, that the Stylist George Cortina has to dig up the craziest things and throw it on poor Candice to create the most hideous outfit known to man. It would be a nice way to playfully say “Fashion is overrated” and display those photographs in a gallery, but in Vogue? THE mag for fashion industry? Na-ah, not my cup of tea.
See yourself and tell me what you think: Is this look Hot or Not?
